Colleges

Linking London, part of the London Uni Connect Partnership, works exclusively with sixth form and further education colleges across London. Building on our experience of developing sustained and productive relationships between London universities, colleges and key stakeholders, we will be working collaboratively with London colleges to improve the social mobility of college learners by widening participation into and through higher education.   We will work to support London college staff, including teachers and advisers in a number of ways. These include:

• Acting as a point of contact and support for college teachers and advisers to find out about and access outreach activity offered by London higher education institutions
• Identifying and sharing existing good practice in supporting college learners to make informed choices and successful transitions into and through higher level learning, including higher and degree apprenticeships
• Working with colleges to identify gaps in outreach support and provide a brokerage role with our HE partners to deliver existing or new provision
• Developing a range of innovative resources aimed at both college staff and learners
• Delivering a range of staff development opportunities to meet the need of college teachers and advisers
• Providing a platform for London universities, colleges and other key organisations to develop a more coherent offer to college learners to help address educational disadvantage, taking into account the higher level skills needs for London
